Cybersecurity by Internet Browser

Cybersecurity by Internet Browser

Your employees must be able use the internet, right? But it is a hacker's paradise out there, and just a tiny gap in your browser is all that a cybercriminal needs to wreak havoc in your datacenter.

There are several software products that aim to help you prevent such an unwanted breach. One of them is ConcealBrowse, the qualities of which I will attempt to summarize.

ConcealBrowse is a lightweight browser extension that converts any browser to a secure, zero-trust browser, catching malware and credential theft attacks that bypass other security controls.

ConcealBrowse apparently works by performing pre- and post-processing of code on a computer to protect against browser-borne attacks such as RATs, trojans, worms, ransomware, browser hijacking, and more. It also automatically detects risky internet traffic and defends and isolates your network and endpoint information.

How is ConcealBrowse different from most other malware protection software of its type? Some of the main differences that I am able to see are:

  • ConcealBrowse is a browser extension that runs on the endpoint, while most other malware protection software are either cloud-based services or virtual appliances that run on the network.
  • ConcealBrowse would perform pre- and post-processing of code on the computer to protect against browser-borne attacks, while most other malware protection software only perform filtering or scanning of web traffic or files.
  • ConcealBrowse would support any browser and any operating system, while most other malware protection software have specific requirements for browser compatibility or operating system support.
  • ConcealBrowse would provide comprehensive enterprise protection from ransomware across the operating system, while most other malware protection software only provides partial or limited protection from ransomware or other types of malware.

These are some of the reasons why ConcealBrowse is a unique and innovative solution for malware protection.

From foregoing, some immediately visible benefits of a software as ConcealBrowse are:

  • It may reduce expenses on detection, prevention, and response.
  • It may enhance visibility and security control with a dashboard that provides real-time threat intelligence and analytics .
  • It deploys in minutes and is seamless to the user.
  • It supports any browser and any operating system.

I am however unable to ascertain that ConcealBrowse is compatible with all websites or applications that require specific browser settings or plugins. I am also unable to determine the amount of performance issues or latency due to the processing of code on the computer, or its ability to prevent all types of malware or cyberattacks that do not originate from the browser.

For what it may be worth, I advise to contact the company directly to arrange a test run.

PS: This is an independent review. I have not used this product which was introduced to me at the DataConnectors Atlanta Cybersecurity conference . I will be reviewing more of the exhibitions in the coming weeks
