Robert S. Seiner - Traditional data modeling methods unintentionally form disparate datasets in our data architectures. There is no data integrity enforced between these datasets which isolates your data. When traditional data modeling methods are properly enhanced, compatible datasets are formed. These compatible datasets are directly interoperable and collectively function in a manner indistinguishable from a single consistent dataset. Compatible datasets feature modular plug-and-play functionality and can be dynamically blended on demand as needed. We no longer need data integration projects, or data warehouse projects, or even data fabric initiatives. Compatible datasets spontaneously form an analytics-ready modular data fabric. Before we attempt data modernization, I think we should repair the disparate datasets.

Do you see data modernization as a pure technical topic or do you see it as a socio-technical system problem? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociotechnical_system I'm mesn will you really get a different result if you invest in new tech without modernizing the practices, competences, roles and responsibillitiies and organisation team topology to align and be cohesive with your modernization objective. and to be able to use the technology? Example if you modernise your data approaches it infers that the team and people must be able to use and adopt this tech. The simplest example could be that Business controllers stop using excel to wrangle data. But use something more modern... Which would infer that they need to move from flat file to Pivot-tables to SQL. How do you see the socio part of data modernization?
