This day not only honors the script's inclusion in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity since November 30, 2016, but also pays tribute to Iakob Gogebashvili, a visionary in Georgian education.
Iakob GogebashviliK nown for his seminal work, the children's primer 'Mother Language' (დედა ენა), Gogebashvili has empowered generations to read and write in Georgian since 1880. His contributions continue to resonate, keeping the language vibrant and relevant in educational institutions across Georgia.
