$55,000 Available for Breath Diagnostics | Sept. 6, 2024 | Prize Challenge | NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Innovators with solutions to improve NASA’s E-Nose, adding functionality that could allow it to act as a clinical tool, testing the molecular composition of the breath to discriminate between the breath of COVID-positive and COVID-negative individuals may submit their solutions to win part of the $55,000 prize pool. Submissions are due Sept. 6. 

$125,000 Available to Students for Cyber Resiliency and Measurement Solutions | Sept. 8, 2024 | Prize Challenge | Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD)

Student innovators with the ability to develop mathematical models and software algorithms to assess cyber resiliency and evaluate a system’s architecture, defined functions, hardware and software needs, known cyber vulnerabilities, and the effectiveness of its defensive capabilities against cyber-attack from one or more advanced persistent threats (APTs.) may submit their solutions to NSWCDD for the opportunity to win part of $125,000. Submissions are due Sept. 8.

Funding Available for Multiple Technologies | Sept. 9, 2024 | Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) | Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL)

Innovators with research that covers the topic areas of interest of ONR or MCWL (find topic areas under the “BAA” tab) may submit their proposals for the opportunity to receive funding from ONR or MCWL. Submissions are due Sept. 9.

Small businesses with innovations for artificial intelligence and machine learning may submit their solutions to the Army for the opportunity to receive a $250,000 Phase I SBIR grant or a Direct to Phase II (DP2) SBIR grant. This topic is currently in pre-release. Submissions close on Sept. 17.

$250,000 and $2M Grants Available for Hybrid Electric Powertrain, Power, and Propulsion Systems Technologies | Sept. 17, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | US Army

Small businesses with hybrid electric powertrain, power, and propulsion systems may submit their solutions to the Army for the opportunity to receive a $250,000 Phase I SBIR grant or a Direct to Phase II (DP2) SBIR grant. This topic is currently in pre-release. Submissions close on Sept. 17.

Funding Available for Ambient Clinical Dictation Tools | Sept. 17, 2024 | Direct to Phase II (DP2) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | Defense Health Agency (DHA)

Small businesses with innovations to minimize monotonous, time-consuming provider tasks for electronic medical record documentation by transforming conversations between providers and patients into clinical notes and other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) coding documentation may submit their solutions to DHA. Funding Available for Tools to Diagnose Burn Wound Complications | Sept. 17, 2024 | Direct to Phase II (DP2) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | Defense Health Agency (DHA)

Small businesses with innovations to assess burn wounds for evolving immunopathogenesis, immune dysfunction, and/or pathogenic invasion within the burn lesion without requiring dressing removal may submit their solutions for the opportunity to receive funding from DHA. Up to $15M Available for Phase II SBIR Awardees | Sept. 18, 2024 | Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI)/Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) | AFWERX

Small businesses that have been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract within the last two years are eligible to apply for additional funding through the U.S. Air Force’s STRATFI/TACFI program to help them bridge the “Valley of Death'' between Phase II and Phase III.  STRATFI/TACFI can be based on a Phase II contract from another service, however, the effort must have an Air Force end-user. Submissions close Sept. 18.

Funding Available for Host-Directed Therapeutics to Treat Viral Disease | Sept. 24, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBD) Program 

Biomedical professionals with the ability to develop broadly active host-directed therapeutics to be used as treatment for disease or as prophylactic medical countermeasures may submit their solutions to the CBD program for the opportunity to receive funding. The viral biothreat families of interest to the DoD include: Filoviruses, Togaviruses (Alphaviruses), Arenaviruses, Paramyxoviruses, Poxviruses (Orthopoxviruses), and Hantaviruses. Submissions are due Sept. 24.

Funding Available for Quantum Chemical Sensing | Sept. 24, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBD) Program 

Small businesses with the ability to develop quantum sensors to detect low concentrations of chemical threats with high specificity may submit their solutions to the CBD program. Submissions are due Sept. 24.

Innovators interested in receiving technical assistance from researchers at DOE National Laboratories may apply for $2.1 million in vouchers valid for testing and validation, use of specialized equipment and software, simulation and modeling, consulting, and more. Submissions are due Oct. 3.

$250,000 and $2M Grants Available for Battery Technologies | Oct. 15, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | US Army

Small businesses with innovations for battery technologies may submit their solutions to the Army for the opportunity to receive a $250,000 Phase I SBIR grant or a Direct to Phase II (DP2) SBIR grant. This topic is currently in pre-release. Submissions open on Sept. 10 and close on Oct. 15.

[NEW] Funding Available for Multiple Technologies | Oct. 16, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | US Navy

Innovators with technologies for diesel engine compatibility or a drone radio frequency (RF)-optimized nodal element antenna system may submit their proposals for the opportunity to receive SBIR grant funding from the Navy. These topics are currently in pre-release. Submissions open on Sept. 19 and close on Oct. 16.

[NEW] Funding Available for Multiple Technologies | Oct. 16, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | U.S. Space Forces – Space (S4S)

Innovators with technologies covering 22 different topic areas from space domain awareness to launch technologies may submit their proposals for the opportunity to receive SBIR grant funding from the Space Force. These topics are currently in pre-release. Submissions open on Sept. 19 and close on Oct. 16.

$139,500 Available to HBCU Students | Oct. 30, 2024 | Prize Challenge | US Army xTech

Students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) may submit their solutions for autonomy and power and energy to the U.S. Army xTechHBCU Student competition for the opportunity to receive part of the cash prize, engage with the Do, participate in an accelerator program, and potentially develop a prototype of their innovative idea. Submissions are due Oct. 30.
