Diplomatic Interactions : 38th National Day of Iran - Colombo ( Srimal Fernando Diplomatic Society of South Africa )
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo celebrated the 38th Iranian National Day in Colombo on 8 February 2017. Srimal Fernando Diplomatic society Global Editor Srimal Fernando met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka H.E Mohammad Zaeri Amirani and with Iranian and other diplomats based in Colombo during the function.
Key points -1. Iran accounted for almost 90 percent of Sri Lanka's oil needs 2 Over 20 percent of Sri Lanka's tea exports were to Iran. 3 Meanwhile,rapid increase of Iranian tourist visiting Sri Lanka 4. Iran-funded Uma Oya the multi purpose with two dams project to irrigate 25,000 acres.(The recent figures are US $ 450 million )
