Doing the Right Thing

Kindness.

It’s one of our core values at Dynamic Video Communications. Kindness is at the core of what we do and how we treat our clients while providing video solutions. I recently had a lapse of judgment and missed an opportunity to do the right thing.

We were shooting and running late to our second location. On my way to Irvine, my vehicle was accidentally hit by another car. I stepped out of my car incredibly annoyed. I stepped out with a bias. What was he doing? Was he texting? Eating? I wasn’t necessarily irate but I was rude and short. The fellow who hit me was frightened, literally begging me not to report the incident to the insurance company. His voice was trembling, as he realized I was probably more than likely going to report the damage to a Jaguar.

The next day - I evaluated the damage and reached out to him. I wanted to let him know that I would not pursue a claim and I felt a need to apologize for how I had behaved immediately after the incident.

A great way of holding yourself accountable is to always embody and exemplify the values that makes us better, kinder humans. Accidents happen. Kindness happens too, especially when we do the right thing.
