The video game is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) style game in a 5 versus 5 where players can queue into a match where the objective is to destroy the enemy teams Core of the base known as the Ancient and in order to do that the players must collect gold to buy items and make themselves stronger and these items can give you upgrades ranging from base stats, to changing your ability(s) or providing an ability through an item and in order to get gold the players must kill and kill monsters in the jungle or the minions that push the lanes with towers towards the Ancient throughout the game or get an advantage by killing the enemy player which scales the reward based on the opponents performance throughout the game in terms of level difference and bounty of the number of players killed without dying.
Release of the game
Ever since its release by Valve; the video game Dota 2 has immediately gained popularity from people across the world and brought players from an earlier version named DotA (Defense of the Ancients) which was originally a mod for Warcraft III which gave it a lot of publicity for newer players.
Another large reason the game grew during its release was because of the beta key method which if you were lucky you received a beta key from the steam community bot and had access to or had to wait later down the line where they allowed to buy a key through the dota2 website although many didn’t purchase as the beta key was like a virus which if someone received a key; while playing they would have received more keys which were found in their steam inventory and sharing these gifts and keys the number of players would spread and multiply rapidly giving the chance for new players to learn and be introduced towards the moba genre.
