Economic Democracy Conclave: Silent Revolution at 'Bottom of the Pyramid'
It was great to get invited and participate in the Economic Democracy Conclave organized by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) today. It is hard to miss the data points emerging from so many different institutions that there is certainly a renewed focus on inclusion and sharing of economic opportunities with the most vulnerable section of the society.
In last two and a half decades post economic liberalization in India, rising inequality has been a bad news. If it remains unchecked, this could be a serious threat for political and governance structures. That is why economic democracy is as important as political democracy and that was perhaps the most important take away from the session.
Sincere appreciation for Ravi Pokharna (Executive Director, RMP and FMS Alumnus) and Vikas Bhardwaj of Jawaharlal Nehru University. It was a pleasure to join the EDC conclave, thanks for the invite and the excellent hospitality.
