Emerging Hedge Funds in 2024

This year is shaping up to be a big one for new hedge fund launches, with John Caplis at PivotalPath stating they predict as many as 40 new hedge fund launches this year. With a successful quarter for hedge funds in Q1 and investors having renewed enthusiasm, plenty of successful traders have begun fundraising for their own ventures hoping to be able to replicate their stellar performance at previous firms. Here are a few hedge funds to watch in 2024:

Taula Capital Management – A London-based macro hedge fund founded by former Millennium portfolio manager Diego Magia. Due to begin trading in a few months, and with backing from Millennium Management, it's due to be one of the biggest launches of the year.

Jain Global - A New York-based multi-strategy fund led by ex-Millennium CIO Bobby Jain. Due for a highly anticipated debut in July with around 100 employees currently and PMs from Morgan Stanley, Citadel, and Balyasny Asset Management.

Tessellis Capital Management – An equity long/short hedge fund started by Chiki Gupta Brahm from Citadel. Headquartered in NY, Tessellis Capital is a rare example of a woman-founded hedge fund debut. Expected to launch near the end of the year trading industrials, consumer, and TMT stocks.

30th Century Partners – In Hong Kong, Kurt Baker, formerly of Millennium and Morgan Stanley, is securing a large amount of funding for a new hedge fund. With an aim to start trading as early as June this year, aiming to rival the largest multi-strategy funds in the APAC markets.
