Employee Spotlight: Jacob Krinock
How long have you worked for DTS?
I started as an intern in May 2023 working part time while going to school to earn my master’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I started here at DTS full-time in May 2024. I’ve been working here for just over a year now.
What's your job title? And what do you do?
My job titles are Aviation Inspection Manager, Junior Estimator, and Equipment Manager.
I am tied into a lot here at DTS. I am a fully licensed remote drone pilot and have been doing aviation inspections since last year. I fly advanced drones inside of boilers, stacks, and other confined spaces providing visual reports and Ultrasonic Thickness data. I can complete drone inspections on pipelines, turbines, roads, and any other outdoor material to meet our customers’ needs. After the inspection, I create user friendly visual reports with the information I gather from the flights. I am constantly staying up to date with flight rules and regulations.
As a junior estimator I assist in creating quotes/proposals to send to our customers. I often work with our project managers on site-specifics and staffing details. I assist in managing the cost estimates for our company. Also, I assist in enhancing and maintaining our customer relations.
As equipment goes, I am the manager of our company wide inventory app. I ensure all equipment is accounted for and located where it should be. I label each item with QR codes that can be scanned to make the management process easier. I am constantly checking items in and out for our technicians and making sure they have all the proper equipment to efficiently do their job. I also ensure that our equipment is up to date with calibration and procedures. I manage most of this information in the inventory app we use. I am currently assisting our Chicago, Michigan, and Texas branches as well.
I am also an assistant/helper for our NDE and BI departments. I have been on many pipeline inspection jobs as well as boiler inspections during outages.

What’s your favorite thing about working for DTS?
I love working at DTS. My favorite thing about working here is friendliness and the positive environment throughout our company. Everyone is very willing to help if needed and very easy to get along with. Especially as an intern, everyone seemed to take me under their wing and helped me grow my skillsets which allowed me to become an asset for the company. Everyone gets along and seems to understand that we are all a team, we succeed together. Also, I feel the company takes care of its employees and recognizes hard work. It is a very welcoming environment here at DTS.
Any accomplishments you'd like to highlight?
Since May 2023, I have completed multiple drone inspections for DTS. I’d like to highlight my work ethic to not only produce high quality inspections and reports but to also graduate (Twice) since my time here with Summa Cum Laude honors. New to the inspection field, I was able to step up and efficiently navigate through struggles to complete difficult drone inspections for DTS. I was acknowledged by our customers for the work I completed for them. Although it may seem fun, flying these advanced drones is very stressful and comes with a lot of pressure. I am proud of my work and am grateful for the opportunity to maintain DTS’ highly respected reputation.
When you're not working, what do you enjoy doing?
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me on the golf course or in the woods. I am an avid golfer and outdoorsman. I’ve been obsessed with both hobbies since as far back as I can remember. In the summer, I play in outings pretty much every weekend but enjoy casual rounds with my dad or my buddies throughout the week. In the other seasons of the year, I am in the woods hunting or fishing as much as I can. With my occasional free time, I enjoy playing guitar and hanging out with my family and friends.
