The European data protection day

On 28 January 2023, the 17th edition of the European Data Protection Day, introduced in 2006 by the Council of Europe, is celebrated. The date marks the protection of the human right of privacy, especially in an era of people’s dependency on digital tools and services.

The Council of Europe, initiator of this important celebration, commemorates the day by educating individuals on data protection challenges, their rights and how to exercise them, at the following link

To celebrate this important day, the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante Privacy) hosts an awareness event today entitled “Il Metaverso tra utopie e distopie: orizzonti e sfide della protezione dei dati”.
