Event Apps: What's the buzz about?
An in-depth look at conference and event apps - are they really worth it?

Event Apps: What's the buzz about?

Tired of drowning in paper at events? Let's go digital!

As an event professional, one of my primary objectives is to always look for ways to enhance the experiences of our clients and attendees. At CTC, we've found that integrating event apps into our strategies has proven to be a game-changer, fostering engagement, efficiency, and sustainability.

Transforming attendee engagement.

Event apps serve as a digital hub where attendees can access all pertinent information at their fingertips. From agendas and speaker bios to interactive maps and real-time updates, these apps enhance attendee engagement by providing a truly immersive and accessible experience. Features like live polling, Q&A sessions, and networking tools foster meaningful interactions, turning passive spectators into active participants.

Event apps are reducing waste and resources.

Are sustainable practices important to you or your event? Beyond enhancing the attendee experience, event apps can greatly impact sustainability and ESG efforts. By digitizing event materials such as agendas, handouts, and surveys, you can significantly reduce the consumption of paper and other resources. And that's not all - tracking attendance and preferences digitally means we're leaving behind a smaller carbon footprint. Mother Nature approves!

How do I get started?

Implementing an event app involves several key steps, beginning with identifying the specific needs and goals of your event. From there, you'll select a suitable app provider, customize the platform to align with your branding and objectives, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems - some of our favorites are Whova and Cvent. There are a wide variety of platforms available for the level of customization and analytics you are looking for! Training staff and promoting the app to attendees are crucial components of the implementation process, ensuring a smooth transition and maximum engagement.

At CTC, we educate our clients about the benefits of event apps and guide them through the implementation process. Our clients’ experiences have proven -  time and time again - how impactful this technology can be. We offer different training initiatives to ensure both organizers and attendees are fully equipped to leverage the app's features effectively.

Event apps aren't just tools; they're powerful tools for modernizing events, engaging attendees, and promoting sustainability. By embracing innovation and leveraging technology, we can create more impactful, memorable, and eco-friendly events for years to come.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on event apps and how they're transforming the events landscape. Please share your experiences and insights in the comments below!

Yes, having quick access to an app is great to get all the information I need when attending a conference. Especially if it's released earlier, and I can go in and prep my schedule!
