Everly Health Releases New STD Prevalence Data

STDs are at some of the highest rates in the US that they've ever been. At-risk populations have never had less access to STD testing, with 80% of sexual health screening clinics having to reduce hours or shut down during the last 24 months

STD prevalence rates between April 20, 2021-April 20, 2022

To better understand trending prevalence across the country, Everly Health generated an STD Heat Map based on Everlywell unique orders from April 20, 2021 through April 20, 2022. The data is from consumer-initiated, at-home self-collected sample tests and is not reflective of CDC-monitored clinic data. Data is not weighted to be representative of the United States population.

The prevalence was calculated as the proportion of tests that were positive for either chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis c, HIV, syphilis, or trichomoniasis out of all tests that resulted. For example, out of tests sold in Alabama, 2.7% of those test-takers received positive results. The average prevalence across all states was 1.9% and ranged from 0.9% in Connecticut and Arkansas to 2.7% in Alabama. Twenty percent of the STD tests examined resulted in rural areas.

Everlywell does not operate in New York.
