Expansion, new CEO, and more.

Expansion, new CEO, and more.

Over the past 12 months, Gordon Moody has seen a 43% increase in applications for treatment services as demand for gambling addiction support continues to rise.

To meet this demand, we have recently secured a long-term lease on a former care home on the outskirts of Redditch which will become our flagship men's treatment location. This new site will be able to provide residential space for 148 men on an annual basis, a 43% uplift on our current capacity.

Once enrolled, participants will undertake a 14-week intensive evidence-based recovery programme, with a unique aftercare service providing ongoing support.

Over the past five years, we have provided support to over a thousand people - with over two-thirds achieving full freedom from gambling disorder for at least 24 months after finishing their treatment programme. The extra capacity this new treatment centre brings will help us further increase the impact we make.

Ahead of opening in April 2024, the Redditch site will undergo a full refurbishment to provide a suitable environment for participants to undertake therapeutic treatment.

Applications rise by 10% at half-year

Our half-year data shows that we have achieved improvements and successes across our services and have delivered successful outcomes for an increased number of service users.

In October, Gordon Moody hosted panel events at the Conservative and Labour Party Conferences to raise awareness of our services and to discuss the implications of the Gambling White Paper with key political stakeholders across the political spectrum.

Representatives from our National Gambling Support Network partners joined us on the panels to highlight the crucial role of the third sector in providing treatment for gambling-related harms.
