ASD joined 110 European associations in advocating for a significant boost in the EU’s budget for the upcoming Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP10). The call emphasised the need for FP10 to focus on pan-European collaborative research.
The associations believe that to ensure long-term competitiveness, Europe needs to attract and retain more private RD&I investments. The EU Framework Programme is vital in this context.
Global aerospace cooperation boosted by new agreements on S-Series specifications
Designed to enhance global aerospace cooperation, ASD, the Aerospace Industries Association of America (AIA), the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC) and Airlines for America (A4A) have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on the S-series of specifications; and came together to celebrate the MoUs and closer international cooperation recently at the Farnborough Airshow.
ASD signs Antwerp Declaration for a European industrial deal
ASD has joined over 1,100 European organisations in signing the Antwerp Declaration. Presented to key European leaders, the declaration outlines ten actions to integrate the EU Industrial Deal into the broader European Strategic Agenda. Key elements include the need to reduce regulatory burdens and eliminate unnecessary complexity in legislation, making Europe a globally competitive provider of energy, and scaling up domestic mining and recycling capacities for critical raw materials.
The skills gap in aerospace & defence manufacturing
