Finding Qualified Candidates

The two biggest problems that most businesses face when trying to find qualified candidates are indeed just that, big issues. The good news is that there is a solid way to conquer both. First let's identify the issues.

The first problem stems from awareness. Most businesses spend little to nothing to brand their business as an employer in the market. People know that you are there, but they don't think about the fact that you employ people. So when people look for a position, they do not think of you.

The second issues is that job boards only target people actively looking for positions. The reality is that your next hire is currently working for someone else. This is the passive candidate. They don't check job boards. Your perfect candidate might not even know that you have a better position for them.

Here is the good news. There is a way to brand your business as an employer in the market, and reach that passive candidate at the same time. The medium has been right in front of you all the time, but is almost never thought of as the powerful recruitment tool that it is. The medium is radio.

Every morning thousands of people jump in their car and head to work. It is the ideal time to have a one on one conversation with them. You can tell them all about your opening and your company. Pick up any marketing magazine and you will find an article of how radio is the best branding tool available today. You have the ability to brand your business as an employer, and talk directly to passive candidates.

There is a specific strategy used to get the most out of your campaign, and your commercial copy is of the utmost importance to your success. However you can effectively conquer the two biggest issues, and hire your next great candidate. Think radio, and get started.
