In today’s environment, there are potentially more challenges for parts and service departments than ever before. Here are the top 20 we see on a regular basis, I ask “How are you performing in these areas?”
1. Open repair orders
2. Customer pay effective labor rate
3. Warranty reimbursement rates
4. Parts aged inventory
5. Lost sales tracking in parts
6. Inventory true turnover
7. Declined repairs in service on repair orders
8. Service customer intake walk-arounds
9. Service customer follow up
10. Scheduling.
11. Technician production.
12. Dispatch

14. Hours or dollars on customer-pay repair orders
15. Customer satisfaction
16. Warranty compliance
17. Labor operation structure and use
18. Training

20. Profits
These are the 20 most common, and a good place to start understanding the complexities you face every day. It is easy to see the difference between good and bad results, but it is much more challenging to know what actions to take to get real improvements.
If you want to improve any of these, we should chat about answers. The results are what built our business over the last 21 years.

12moExact same top 20 for last 30 years! Question really is why hasn’t it changed with the times? They said “ computers” would solve these issues when they came out selling them? The reps came and said the ‘ fixed the issue” with training? Yet same stuff!!
