Free it. Find it. Understand it. Action it: data for true business value

In our QlikWorld keynote today, Qlik CMO Rick Jackson and I spoke of the major shift needed towards a new paradigm in data and analytics that recognizes the critical importance of every stage in the data pipeline.

This is essential to achieve the true business value of data, something that few companies are managing. Accenture reports that just 32% of companies are able to realize tangible and measurable value from data.

Whereas our new global study with IDC revealed that organizations that strategically invest throughout their data and analytics pipelines - from finding and accessing valuable data, to analyzing it and taking action - are seeing significant bottom line impact. Three quarters of firms reported that operational efficiency, revenue, and profit increased by over 20%.

So how are we bringing the world of data integration and data analytics together to create synergies that drive new value?

I outlined today how we at Qlik have further developed our product portfolio to empower our customers to build and maintain raw-to-ready-to-insights & action through an end-to-end data pipeline.

While by no means an exhaustive list, here are some of the new developments that I’m confident will drive real change and create true value for our customers:

  • Consumer driven data self-service - Too many organizations invest heavily in building out a data pipeline, but don’t go the last mile of putting data into the hands of the people that can benefit most from it. We’re making it easy for our customers to find it and use it.
  • Quicker insights from intelligent data and analytics pipelines – With Qlik’s integrated data and analytics pipeline capabilities, we’re reducing the time it takes to go from raw data to insights.
  • Natural language data analysis – Unlike other vendors, we’ve eliminated the need for manual data identification and tagging for programming-free analytics experience. Automating this process means that our customers can use natural language questions to go deeper and wider into their data sets, i.e. by simply asking “What are my sales by region and weather conditions?”
  • Combining data at rest with data in motion for active intelligence – We are able to surface unprecedented insights by having a 360-degree view of the data - both historical and real time in motion data enabling unique insights. (Don’t miss City Plumbing’s article explaining how combining historical and current data helped them manage their response to COVID)

Together, these technologies dramatically shorten the time from data to actions in an end-to-end business value chain. Free it. Find it. Understand it. Action it. I can’t put it any simpler than that.
