From food inflation to summer meal deals
Just a few months ago we were talking about how fast-food chains and grocery stores were raising their prices, but this summer has shown a shift happening in the food industry as more brands introduce meal deals.
McDonald's was the first to propose this initiative back in May, which immediately spiked public interest and led to its competitors following suit
An even bigger spike in interest happened in June when McDonald's announced the $5 meal deal was finally available, and what it included. Taco Bell, Burger King, and Wendy's have all since announced their own value options ranging from $3 to $7 deals.
The most recent brand to enter the spotlight, although not a fast-food chain, is AriZona Beverages, as the company's co-founder voiced his commitment to keeping its Iced Tea priced below $1. Stories about the co-founder's statement have earned over 151k engagements.
