GIVING BACK ON GIVING TUESDAY

GIVING BACK ON GIVING TUESDAY

Everyone at Teal is lucky enough to work with the biggest nonprofits on the planet. But we’re also thankful for the local groups in our backyards. So on this GivingTuesday, Teal donated to the causes that our employees are passionate about—and we sang their praises on social media.

IS SOCIAL MEDIA DYING?

Hubspot has identified a few social-media trends that might already be affecting nonprofits: Average daily time spent on social media is declining, gated communities like Instagram’s Close Friends are gathering momentum, and ad-free subscriptions could make it harder to reach new audiences.

UN-IMPEACHABLE DESIGN

“Temperatures hit new highs, yet world fails to cut emissions (again)” has an Onion-like energy we didn’t expect from the United Nations. This cover from their latest climate-change report is a good reminder that snappy copy paired with eye-opening graphics is a sure way to lure in readers.

A MONUMENTAL MOVE

Now that America has finally recognized the problem with statues of white men on horses, The Mellon Foundation is focused on what’s next—investing $500 million to “expand capacity for the continued creation of new monuments and commemorative spaces that tell our shared past and collective futures.”

ONE FOR THE KIDS

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation helps families who have received a devastating diagnosis. Teal made the org’s website clearer and easier to navigate,  so parents can get access to support, research, grant money, and clinical trials—and feel a little more optimistic about the journey ahead.
