Go To Bed Hungry - An Underused Key To Lasting Success...

Robert Anderson Jr - Founder and CEO - Win By Design

If you live in the United States and are on LinkedIn, odds are you can’t remember the last time you went to bed hungry.

HUMILITY

As the father of four, I’m constantly fighting back the urge for excess from my kids.

•another pair of sneakers

•new lacrosse gear

•eating out for the novelty of eating out

As my wife Kelly and I are working to teach our kids that they have to earn what they want in life, I often ask myself, am I part of the problem?

...When was the last time I even went to bed hungry?

As I challenged myself and my body’s cravings to eat after 5:30-6pm something remarkable started to happen.

I started to become more humble. I started eating less during the day to condition my body and my mind not to look for a big meal at the end of the day.

When I ate, it meant something to me. I ate slower, took deep breaths between bites and chose nutrient dense meals. I’ve always been aware of what I eat but my awareness became heightened.

Training and working throughout Malibu CA and neighboring towns, I started to look at the homeless issue in an entirely new light as well. It brought me a touch closer to the pain they face towards getting a quality meal daily... more to follow in a later article on this topic.

DIGESTION

The benefits for your digestive system are astounding. If you sleep 8-10 hours a night, have your last bite of food 3-4 hours before bed, you can effectively give your digestive system a 14-15 hour break from digesting food.  An opportunity to operate at an optimal level. Which can have the following results...

•minimize bloating

•reduce morning brain fog

•improve your energy throughout the day

•improve sexual performance and stamina

•burn fat more effectively

PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH

Going to bed hungry will renew your passion to teach your kids, co-workers, and friends to share their love and appreciation for life. It will remind you daily that you earned your meal.

When you can appreciate life at a higher level, you can change your employees as individuals and give your business a renewed sense of purpose.

My Win By Design seminar is a three-part series I teach to athletic and executive teams on how to become more mindful again. How to identify your why, define your needs, and create a pathway to achieve them by writing the press release of your life.
