Goal Busters- Part 3
To recap: In part 1 we talked about “should goals”. Your goals need to be something you truly desire if you want to be successful in achieving them.
In part 2, we talked about congruency. Your goals must be congruent with you self image or you will continually sabotage your success.
Welcome to part 3 of Goal Busters and today we’re going to talk about persistence, or impersistence as the case may be. I know impersistence isn’t a real word, but it works doesn’t it?

Often when you have a goal, and it seems to be the bigger the goal, the worse this problem can be, you get to a point where you’re so close to achieving it and getting exactly what it is you want and then something happens to get in your way. This is the Universal Challenge Line. Right when you’re about to get exactly what you want, the universe throws an obstacle in your way and you either have to back away or push through it.
This is an uncomfortable position to be in. It doesn’t feel good to be at the Universal Challenge Line.
Most peoples reaction is to back away and retreat to what is known and comfortable, but a Peak Performer pushes through the Universal Challenge Line and this is important. This is important because often we look at Peak Performers and think that there is no way they have ever thought of quitting or giving up. The truth is, they do think about it! They face the same challenges and road blocks as everyone else but instead of retreating, they push through the discomfort and the unknown. The bigger the goal, the bigger the desire is to quit when faced with an obstacle.
If you have ever quit or wanted to quit on a big goal, you are normal! You’re like most people, but most people don’t live the life they want. Most people settle for less than what they’re capable of.
I’ve been there. When I was started my personal training business, I was scared out of my mind! At least once a week I would tell my husband “That’s it! I quit! I’m just going to go find a job where I can work regular hours and get paid for showing up!” Because starting a business can be scary, and challenging and hard some days. I wanted to quit! But what saved me was that I had such a burning desire to be self employed, to be in charge of my life, to create my own future, that quitting was never really an option.
That’s where that desire from Part 1 comes from! It’s the desire to achieve your goals that will override the temptation to quit if you really want to reach your goals. Everyone who has ever achieved anything great has reached the point of wanting to quit and chosen not to instead. In fact, I guarantee they reached this point many, many times!
Staying on the comfortable side of the Universal Challenge Line, feels safe. We like comfort zones, don’t we? Comfort feels safe, it’s easy. You’ve heard that saying before that “what you want is on the other side of your comfort zone” or some variation of it. It’s true! You have to push through the discomfort, the uncertainty, the doubts and fears to get through to the other side to get what it is you truly, truly want.
This is why self image is so important in achieving your goals, because if your goals are not congruent with your self image it becomes very easy to quit and you will begin to create the identity of a quitter.
Once you have the desire to achieve your goals, and congruency with you self image, it comes down to persisting through the challenges thrown at you. Now, it’s easy to say these things, it’s easy to say “I would never quit, I would never give up” but when you are faced with the Universal Challenge Line, it can feel like the hardest thing you have done to keep going forward.
So what do you do when all you want to do is quit?
I have found that at that moment, it is crucial to have someone there to cheer you on, remind you why you’re doing this, hold you accountable and pull you out of your comfort zone and into what you want.
This is where I come in and this is what leads me to my big exciting news! I’ve been listening to you. I’ve been listening to your feedback through email and social media and I know that there are many of you who would like to work with me, but my 1 on 1 rates are at a premium and my time is limited. I would like to solve this problem for you. I have created a 6 week, Mindset Intensive Group Coaching program to help you get clear on what you want and break through the mental blocks that are holding you back so that you can create the life you want!
Here’s what the program looks like:
- 1 weekly video or audio discussing the theme of the week with a task for that week.
- 1 group coaching call over google hangouts with a recording afterwards in case you want to refer back to it and group exercises.
- A private Facebook group mastermind to connect and help each other and where you can ask me questions and get my support.
My goal for you is that by the end of the 6 weeks, you have clarity on what you want and a ton of tools to help you get there and to keep you focused.
Full disclosure: This is NOT for you if are not ready to commit to yourself, if you like to make excuses and if you are not ready to action.
I am looking for people who are ready for change! Who have big dreams and you’re ready to go after them! If this sounds like you, then I want you to comment below with "I'm ready for change!" and I will email the information on joining the group.
Once you read the email, you’ll know if this is the right fit for you!
