GOOD story BAD filmmaking - the beginner missing steps!

The film-making process nowadays becomes easier than in Akira Kurosawa and Satyajit Ray's period. The outnumber instruments, techniques with the vast medium of screenings platforms OTT as well non-OTT is far more accessible based on production cost and at the last option, Youtube, it can provide more advantage globally to the new creative filmmaker over the night. Among all one thing is needed - the practice of good storytelling.

When we are in love with filmmaking we rush towards the camera and cast. Of course, there was a story in everyone's mind but it does not get that much attention until everything was sorted out, and here is the problem started. The discussion and the storyboarding. Beginning of film making career most of the time the storyteller ( the director ) is manages everything from scripting to editing which is good but they do not understand the pre-production procedure very well. Then their short film becomes a headache in the editing room. everything will be messed up.

The two important missing steps that improve your filmmaking as a beginner are

The discussion is very important whether it is a short film a or full-featured film. After selecting a story gather your friends or teammate or your sweet girlfriend or boyfriend for questioning on your ideas. Filled with how what and why every scene is important. This process cracks you down, sometimes breaks your feeling with the logical interpretation which leads you towards a more perfect storyline. This action-reaction procedure showcases your ability to create something out of line.

The storyboard is an intermediate step that brings the first visual to the story. The planning of camera angles, screen length, and depth with character become more organic and focused help of the storyboard. If you can not draw like an artist no problem at all just simple outline the story frame by frame. You mark on board who is what, where, and how. The screenplay is already done the 30% of the job, now you have to copy the format into a cartoon page. Here How I do it.
