Today is International Women's Day, and I'm thrilled to celebrate this significant day with all of you. As the global leader of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Amazon Worldwide Stores, I strongly believe in equality and empowerment for all women everywhere.
International Women's Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of women around the world and raise awareness of the challenges we still face in achieving gender equality. It's a day to honor the incredible women who fought for our rights and to inspire the next generation of women leaders.
I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing women who have inspired me throughout my life, including the trailblazing women of Amazon, who have shattered glass ceilings and continue to make significant contributions to the tech industry. I'm constantly in awe of the strength and resilience of women who work at Amazon's fulfillment centers, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and all the women who are challenging gender stereotypes and building a more equitable world.
Amazon's International Women's Day and Women's History Month celebrations, centering on the theme of #EmbraceEquity, include curated events, content, campaigns, and experiences that spotlight women employees and customers, celebrating their contributions and experiences.
While we celebrate the progress we've made, there is still so much work to be done. Women still face discrimination, harassment, and violence around the world. We need to continue to fight for gender equality in all areas of life, from the workplace to politics to the home. We need to listen to women's voices and amplify them so that we can build a more just and equitable world for all.
So today, on International Women's Day, I want to celebrate all women, everywhere, including the amazing women of Amazon. I want to thank the incredible women who have come before us and the women who are leading the way today. I want to honor the women who have made a difference in my life and the lives of others. And I want to encourage all women to keep fighting, keep speaking up, and keep striving for a better future.
