Harnessing Fractional Workforce for Business Success With Praveen Ghanta
This week on The Customer Wins, I had a fascinating conversation with Praveen Ghanta , CEO and founder of fraction.work , a company that’s reshaping how businesses access talent. If you’re a business leader trying to figure out how to grow without overextending your budget, you’ll want to hear what Praveen has to say about fractional talent.
Praveen’s unique perspective comes from years of experience building companies, including HiddenLevers, which served financial advisors with stress-testing and portfolio tools before being sold to Orion in 2021.
His newest venture, Fraction, is helping businesses rethink how they approach hiring. Rather than locking into costly full-time hires, companies can bring in top talent for the exact amount of time they need—whether that’s for a few hours a week or a few days a month.
During our conversation, Praveen shared something that really stuck with me:
“The best talent already has a job, so why not hire them fractionally?”
This insight gets to the heart of how Fraction is helping companies tap into expertise that’s otherwise out of reach.
One of the big takeaways from the episode was how businesses can save time and money by bringing on experienced professionals on a part-time basis. Having a highly experienced person on your team part-time can be less risky, more productive and you can gain their fresh perspective when compared to hiring someone less experienced full time.

“You can get access to talent that you couldn’t otherwise afford,” Praveen noted.
Praveen also addressed a common misconception about fractional work: it’s not limited to leadership roles like CFOs or CMOs. His team has seen success even with technical talent working part-time. In fact, some of their best hires are bootstrapping founders who have excess capacity but still need some income while they build their own ventures.
The most impressive part is how this model is helping businesses maintain high-quality work without losing out on knowledge transfer. In many cases, these fractional workers stay with companies for years, contributing just as much as full-time employees.
If you're a business leader or entrepreneur, this episode offers valuable strategies for leveraging top-tier talent without breaking the bank. Whether you're considering a fractional CTO or looking to bring in specialized skills, Praveen's approach might just be what you need.
