How to Avoid the Winter Slump.
Move to a hot country with no snow.
If only it were that easy.
If you are from the UK then this will be a game changer.
I have been conducting research within the LinkedIn DM's.
And found that a substantial amount of men struggle with the winter months
so here are 2 things that have helped me and hundreds of clients within the Man on a Mission programme.
1- THE SUN LIGHT ALARM CLOCK
What is a Sunlight Alarm Clock? A sunlight alarm clock, also known as a dawn simulator, is a brilliant invention designed to mimic the natural sunrise. It gradually increases the intensity of light in your room, waking you up gently and naturally. No more abrupt, jarring alarms to start your day!
- Simulated Sunrise: The alarm clock starts with a soft, warm glow that mimics the colours of a real sunrise.
- Gradual Brightening: Over about 30 minutes, the light becomes brighter, just like the rising sun. This gradual process signals your body to wake up naturally.
- Circadian Rhythm: By aligning with your body's circadian rhythm, a sunlight alarm clock helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle, enhancing your mood and energy levels.Benefits of a Sunlight Alarm Clock:
- Beat the Winter Blues: Say goodbye to groggy mornings and the winter blues. Wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day.
- Boosted Productivity: Starting your day with a gentle sunrise can improve your focus and productivity throughout the day.
- Improved Sleep: By regulating your body's internal clock, these clocks can help you fall asleep more easily and enjoy better-quality rest.
- Energy and Mood: Increased exposure to natural light can boost your mood and combat the lethargy that often accompanies winter.
- No More Snooze Button: With the gradual brightening, you'll find it easier to resist hitting the snooze button repeatedly.
2- BOOK AN EVENT FOR THE SUMMER
I Have 15 guys doing running events from November to April, The reason. To give them direction, heres something I do to combat the winter months.
Why Choose a Summer Marathon?
- A Goal to Work Towards: Setting a goal gives you a sense of purpose and direction during the winter months. Knowing that you have a marathon to train for can be incredibly motivating.
- Training Through Winter: Training for a summer marathon during the winter provides a powerful incentive to stay active and maintain your fitness. It's a surefire way to ward off the winter lethargy.
- Vitamin D Boost: Spending more time outdoors during your training can help you get that much-needed dose of vitamin D, which can be in short supply during the darker winter months.
- Mental Resilience: Training through challenging weather conditions builds mental toughness. It equips you with the resilience needed to overcome obstacles, both in training and in life.
- Anticipation and Excitement: Having a marathon on the horizon adds a level of excitement and anticipation to your winter. It's something to look forward to and plan for.
BOOK THE EDINBURGH MARATHON
Now am I saying that these 2 things will eradicate the winter blues
But you will be way better off and should have that extra motivation!
Any questions on the above drop me a message and share this if you found it useful as it took me ages!
