How a local hospital grew international patients by 69%

Partnership: Primal x Vejthani Hospital 🏥

Strategy Playbook: Grow internationally through local relevancy.

Pillars: Strategy / Search / Social / Content / Data.

Results Achieved:

↑ Organic Traffic: 2X growth from 8 million visits in 2022 to 16 million in 2023.

↑ Revenue: Increased to $92M (international 12% and domestic markets 5%).

↑ Customer Acquisition: International patient numbers grew by 69%

The Challenge:

Firstly, Vejthani Hospital faced the challenge of expanding its market reach and improving online visibility both domestically and internationally.

Despite a strong reputation in healthcare, the hospital struggled to fully leverage its digital potential to reach a broader, international patient base.

We were required to increase organic traffic and patient inquiries from regions with language and cultural diversity, specifically targeting the MENA and APAC regions.

Our Approach:

Our marketing strategy was tailored to enhance Vejthani Hospital's presence in multiple markets, focusing on localising content and optimising search engine visibility and social media across 9 languages.

  1. Integrated Search x Social: Our approach involved keyword optimisation, content localisation, authority content and technical website enhancements then integrated this with localised content and social media.
  2. Data-Driven Content: We created multilingual content tailored to address specific health concerns relevant to each target region, ensuring cultural sensitivity and high relevance to specific health concerns focusing on the highest demand of terminal illnesses.
  3. Building Trust & Authority: We utilised virtual tours and patient testimonials to grow trust and highlight Vejthani's medical expertise and updated doctor profiles to cater to changing search algorithm updates for more authority-led content.

Developing trustworthy content from first-hand experts, the Doctors.

What We Learned:

  1. Cultural Relevance: Tailoring content to fit the cultural and linguistic context of target audiences significantly boosts engagement and conversion rates.
  2. Foundations Matter: Ensuring a technically sound website with fast load times and mobile responsiveness is essential for retaining users and improving search rankings.
  3. Trust Building: Incorporating elements like virtual tours and patient testimonials helps build trust and provides potential patients with valuable insights, enhancing their decision-making process.
  4. Algorithm Adaptability: Staying agile and updating SEO approaches in such as doctor-led content in response to search engine algorithm changes such as E-E-A-T is vital.
  5. Data-Driven: Leveraging data to understand market-specific health concerns allows for more targeted and effective content, driving higher engagement and conversions.
  6. Multichannel Integration: Integrating various marketing channels, from SEO to social media storytelling, created a cohesive user journey that enhanced brand consistency and trust. This integrated approach amplified the overall impact of the marketing efforts.
