Pre Sales

Many ecommerce websites think of their FAQ page as a post-sales tool to help with customer service for customers who have already made a purchase. But a FAQ should actually be an influential piece of your pre sale strategy. If you make it friendly and engaging, easy to navigate and informing it will help add to the good feeling they get from visiting your site and possibly influence them to buy.

Answer Their Questions

Say you have a Magento online store. The key is to provide an excellent user experience. One way to do this is by doing what the name of the page says and actually answering the most common questions. Don’t just make stuff up, do an analysis of your customers’ questions over the history of the business and make sure they’re answered in your FAQ. You may have to update your FAQ frequently since as you add answers to the frequent questions, new ones will take their place.

Add Value

Beyond answering actual questions, think of value added information you could add to the site and form a question around it. For instance, if you have a Brisbane Magento store selling headphones, and want to highlight all the great uses for them, you could pose a question like, “Would these headphones be good for a long plane ride?” and you could go on to describe why they’d be good for such a purpose. By doing this you are giving your potential customer additional ideas about how to use various products which might make them more comfortable and inclined to buy from you.

Have A Call To Action

The FAQ is a great place to include a call to action after answering a question. After all, they’re in your FAQ because they are evaluating your product and thinking about buying. Make it easy for them. For example, if the question is, “Do you offer a money-back guarantee?” you could reassure them that you do, and add a link with text like “Shop now with confidence,” or the like. This will reduce their perception of risk and take away one more obstacle for making the sale.

Be Friendly

Since FAQs are inherently boring, try to make them less so by adopting a conversational tone so it’s more like talking with a real person. This will lend added credibility to your site and product.
