HTC 10 Overview: Sprint Product Ambassadors
I have been using the HTC 10 for a few weeks and am very impressed. Today’s post is an overview of the HTC 10.
Many times when people go into a store to shop for a device, they automatically walk over to either the iPhone or Samsung display, and often times purchase one of those devices. Sure, those are good devices, but you should not disregard the other brands, such as HTC. HTC makes solid, quality devices. Their workmanship is top-notch. True, you might not see that many HTC ads or the salesperson may guide you in another direction, but I ask that you really look at your options, and take a good look at HTC. You will not be disappointed.
Recall when HTC’s first EVO launched? All the way back in 2011. What a breakthrough device that was! I get nostalgic just thinking about it. Yeah, I get nostalgic over old tech, more so than other things in life. Lol HTC did not let down, and nor do they let down with their latest device… the HTC 10.
Size/Display
The HTC 10 is a great sized device, having dimensions of 5.74 x 2.83 x 0.35 inches and weighing only 5.6 ounces. If you are one of those people that is caught up on having a smaller device, you might as well face it… the larger screens are here to stay. You may as well hop on board now. Kind of like when tactile keyboards were no longer created and you had to transition to touchscreen keyboards. Same thing for the big screens. Time to join the fun and enjoy your beautiful screen real estate. Speaking of the beautiful screen, the HTC 10 has a 5.2 inch, Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels), Super LCD 5 screen. The pixel density is 564 ppi. There is a curved edge along the display that really helps the screen to “pop.” Also, rest assured your device screen is strong, as it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as well. If you would like to read more on Corning Gorilla Glass 3, check out this link.
Operating System
The HTC 10 runs Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), along with HTC Sense UI - which integrates wonderfully with Android. This device has minimal bloatware and is a clean experience, similar to stock Android. This is the first time I haven’t had to delete/disable a lot of apps with a new non-nexus device. What a refreshing experience right out of the box!
Power/Speed/Capacity
Let's talk about power, speed, and capacity. This device has a speedy Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 820, Quad Core, 64bit, up to 2.2GHz processor. Regarding memory, we’re looking at 4GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM - expandable to an additional 2 terabytes via microSD card. Really, what a glorious time we live in now where we can carry the computing power of our laptops in the palm of our hand.

Sound
The HTC 10 has super sound, with its HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition. It has certified hi-res audio and sounds fabulous with your headphones. Be sure to give it a listen!
Battery
The HTC 10 battery is robust, offering a talk time of up to 27 hours and standby time of up to 19 days when on our 3g/4g network. The battery is 3000mAh. The device has power saving and extreme power saving modes. I can personally attest that these modes work very well, as I had to use them over the weekend. The device has Quick Charge 3.0 with cool charge, and charges up to 50% in 30 minutes. It uses the newest standard… USB Type-C. This is good as now you don’t have to worry which side is up when you insert the end of your charger cable. If you’re worried that you have many older cables/chargers that are MicroUSB, don’t fret. You can always purchase the MicroUSB to USB Type-C converter tips. They are very affordable. I bought a few myself and use them on my vehicular chargers.
Connectivity
The HTC 10 has bluetooth 4.2. It also works with the latest standard in Wi-Fi… 802.11 ac (as well as a/b/g and n), and operates on both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Also, this will send media to your Chromecast, DLNA compatible devices, uses Miracast, and works with AirPlay!
I have been enjoying using the HTC 10 and highly recommend it. The HTC 10 is available for purchase at Sprint.
