The Huawei Mate 10 Pro Brings Battery Life Back To Smartphones

I have always been a loyal iPhone user. Yet my “Apple-only” mindset changed when I decided to try the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Rated the best phone of the year at CES, the Mate 10 Pro offers many benefits that iPhones simply do not have, one of those being an impressive battery life that can last for hours (in some cases a few days without being charged, depending on usage).

Frustrated by the awful battery life of my iPhone 7, which would often lose charge in just a matter of hours, I decided to switch my iPhone 7 (and service provider, from Verizon to T-Mobile) for the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

Here are my thoughts regarding this transition:

Battery is King

The main reason I decided to give up my iPhone was due to the poor battery life. After installing a few mandatory software updates, my recently purchased iPhone 7 started losing its charge very fast. Talking on the phone for just thirty minutes would drain half of my battery life. I found myself constantly having to walk around with a portable battery pack to keep a charge throughout the day.

That being said, the main reason I switched to The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is because it has a battery that is better then the majority of all other phones on the market. Huawei has packed a sizable 4000mAh cell into its Mate 10 Pro. Depending on phone usage, the Mate 10 Pro can last up to 24 hours or even a few days without having to be recharged.

As a test, I fully charged my Mate 10 Pro phone, used it throughout the day and didn’t recharge it for 24-hours. I was left with about 30% battery life after one day of not charging my phone. This goes to show just how powerful the battery life is on the Mate 10 Pro.

The infographic below offers a visual description:

Picture Perfect Images and Videos

The Mate 10 Pro is also equipped with one of the most impressive phone cameras on the market. It features dual lenses to ensure images are clear, focused and of the highest quality.

The Mate 10 Pro is also Huawei’s first smartphone to launch with a dedicated chip for leveraging artificial intelligence, which is called the neural network processing unit (NPU). The Mate 10 Pro’s camera utilizes this through object recognition capabilities. This means that the camera can identify certain objects and adjust the settings to ensure the best photos for particular things, such as faces, plants, food, dogs/cats, and more (there are 13 identifiable scenarios total).

There are also a number of other impressive camera features offered by the Mate 10 Pro. For instance, users can choose different modes when taking pictures such as portrait mode, true black-and-white photography and a 2.0x optical zoom. It’s also noteworthy to mention that movies on the Mate 10 Pro can be watched in HDR10 resolution over a 6-inch screen.

Smart Features Worth Talking About

The Mate 10 Pro is also fully loaded with a number of smart features. For instance, the Google Voice option that appears on the front screen of the phone is a great feature to use. Google voice picks up on a user’s voice very well and instantly answers questions.

Taking screen shots on the Mate 10 Pro are also easy. Users tap their knuckles on the phone when they want to take a screenshot and images are captured and saved to the camera instantly.

You can also answer phone calls with your voice on the Mate 10 Pro. When I receive calls all I have to say is, “answer call” and I am connected with the person calling me.

Worth The Switch

When all is said and done, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is worth the transition. The biggest problem with my iPhone 7 was battery life and now I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I’m able to go all day (and night) without having to recharge my phone and I find myself taking even more photos and videos due to the impressive quality of images.

Final Thought - For those frustrated with the iPhone’s poor battery life, I highly recommend switching to the Mate 10 Pro. You won’t be disappointed.
