Importance of Rural Development
As per the Universal Declaration of the UN Human Rights, it is the sole responsibility of every nation to provide the basic amenities (Food, Clothing, Shelter, Electricity, Potable Water and Security) to every citizen in order to build confidence in the human resource which will consequently and definitely help in harnessing the other resources judiciously and sustainably by removing the obstacles from the path of the development and therefore raise the human development index and GDP of any nation. If people realise their potential and try not to beg before the person who is in power then all problems will automatically get solved because when Demand decreases Supply increases.
Rural Development refers to the process of improving or uplifting the living conditions of the people living in rural areas. Rural Development is the National Development. The people of India live mostly in rural areas (Villages). The welfare of India depends upon the prosperity of the villages.
The ways and means of rural development:
1. Education of the masses by establishing evening schools for adults
2. Improvement of sanitation
3. Provisions for cheap medical aid through Ayurveda and Herbals – Naturopathy and Yogic Science
4. Construction of good roads
5. Establishment of promotion of the Co-operative Credit Societies to promote Self Help Groups of that particular Local area
6. Co-operative system should be promoted in Agro based Industries and the advantages of the government schemes should reach to the last section of the society
7. Banks should not ridicule the crop Insurance scheme run by the central government. They should extend their best possible support in every way to our innocent farmers
Educated people should go to the villages and settle there. Mass education based on the Cognitive Science should be introduced to remove the ignorance of the villagers. Co-operative Credit Societies should be set-up to advance loans to the peasants. Arbitration Boards should settle disputes and differences in time without any delay. Cottage industries should receive encouragement. Good libraries should be provided in every village. In this way, each village should be developed into a self-sufficient Unit. It is a happy sign that our government is doing its best to improve the conditions of the villages through various schemes of rural uplift. But it is the progress made that has not been up to the mark. School and college students can do a lot of work for rural development. The problems of our villages are many and various. For their solutions, intelligent guidance for both the government and the people is needed. This route will also reduce the population burden on the nearby metropolitan cities.
Our Nation is our big family. Presently when we talk to establish “Skilled, Empowered, Prosperous, Environment friendly Clean and Crime-free Nation”, we first need to realize our responsibility towards our family, society and the nation, we need to be physically and mentally empowered and have the guts to raise the voice against the high level corruption, terrorism, drugs and organized crime.
The International Organization for Educational Development “IOED” – An International Development Mission and Development Organization of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises “MSME” has been working extremely hard for the same with the mutual cooperation of enthusiastic, dedicated and committed volunteers from all the sections of the society. Our efforts have now reaped the fruits and we are in a capacity to extend our best possible support to the government and national and international organizations.
