The Importance of Voting

its a watershed moment for national elections globally. this year more countries will vote than ever before in a single year.

At least 64 countries, ranging from the USA and Russia, to Belize and Botswana will go to the ballot box this year. thats a significant amount of democracies choosing their direction at a time when the world is in crisis. Yes, many of these Elections, such as North Korea and Russia will be sham elections, where it is rubberstamping a government, but thats exactly who it is so important to vote.

Not making a mark on a vote is a vote too!

A blank or damaged vote is also relevant, it is still a vote of no confidence! hence even if you go to the poll and submit a blank vote because you do not believe in the election or feel that there is no suitable candidate. This indicates the unhappiness of the electorate.

think about it, currently 36 percent of Americans feel that they would not vote Trump or Biden. if they all submitted blank voting sheets, that would be almost as big as the gents themselves. That would send a powerful message.

and on messages, if anyone thinks their vote is not important:

The chance to join South Africa

In 1922, Southern Rhodesia voted to join the Union of South Africa, as it was then. They voted against it by 2700 votes ONLY. Had they voted for it, they would have received 6 seats in the South African parliament. 26 years later, the National Party of South Africa won the South African election by 5 seats, had Rhodesia been part of this election, they would most certainly have been Union seats. The National Party would not have one and Apartheid may never have happened.

At this crucial time in history where again many countries are changing direction, it is vital that people take the time and get out there an make their voice heard. whatever you think, what ever way you vote, now is the time to express it, as the decisions made this year will set the course of history for the rest of this century.

please, if you do one this this year. CAST A VOTE
