$880M investment in California!

Leveraging historic state and federal infrastructure investments to build climate resilience and boost water supplies, the State Water Resources Control Board distributed approximately $880 million to water systems and communities during the past fiscal year for projects that will benefit around 12 million Californians.

395 projects across the state have received funding to capture and recycle more water, recharge and protect groundwater, improve stormwater management, expand access to safe drinking water and improve sanitation.

Governor Gavin Newsom said:

California is taking action to build a climate-resilient water system that meets the needs of our communities for the long haul. These projects breaking ground across the state will help hundreds of communities expand access to safe drinking water, improve stormwater management, and secure water supplies now and into the future

These projects advance the Newsom Administration’s all-of-the-above approach to building water resilience through storage, recycling, desalination, conservation and more, and they further the state’s efforts to build more, faster through upgrades to critical infrastructure across the state.

Over the last three years, the State Water Board has distributed more than $5.2 billion to infrastructure projects and drinking water systems, drawing from multiple sources including the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – unprecedented federal support that will reach $2.8 billion cumulatively for California by the end of 2026

Bentley Systems acquires 3D company Cesium

Cesium is recognized as the foundational open platform for creating powerful 3D geospatial applications, and its 3D Tiles open standard has been widely adopted by leading enterprises, governments, and tens of thousands of application developers globally. Cesium ion, the company’s SaaS platform, brings 3D geospatial experiences to more than 1 million active devices every month, while Cesium’s open-source offerings have more than 10 million downloads.

entley’s iTwin Platform powers digital twin solutions that are used by engineering and construction firms and owner-operators to design, build, and operate the world’s infrastructure. Bentley said the combination of Cesium plus iTwin will enable developers to seamlessly align 3D geospatial data with engineering, subsurface, IoT, reality, and enterprise data to create digital twins with astonishing user experiences that scale from vast infrastructure networks to the millimeter-accurate details of individual assets—viewed from land, sky, and sea, from outer space to deep below the Earth’s surface.

Bentley CEO Nicholas Cumins said:

A 3D geospatial view is the most intuitive way for owner-operators and engineering services providers to search for, query, and visualize information about infrastructure networks and assets. With the combined capabilities of Cesium and iTwin, infrastructure professionals can make better informed decisions in full 3D geospatial context—all within a single, highly performant environment

Patrick Cozzi , CEO of Cesium, continued:

We end this weeks Influx Insider with sad news

Niels Due Jensen has passed away ages 81.

My beloved father has passed away, surrounded by his family. His last days were difficult due to illness, but we shared moments of talking, crying, and laughing together. His joy and gratitude for life were extraordinary. Although he dedicated much of his life to Grundfos, he was always there for us as a husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law. He has always been there for us and has taught us respect for other people, integrity and the importance of valuing and supporting diversity

says his son, Poul Due Jensen .

Despite the loss of this great man who elevated Grundfos from a Danish company to a global entity, his legacy endures. Niels Due Jensen is here no more. Today we commit to honouring his memory and keeping his legacy alive.
