The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Information Security Engineer to join the Perth Mint Team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the IT security of Gold Corporation Information Technology environments as well as researching new technologies to ensure that systems operate efficiently while maintaining security.

 Main Duties & Responsibilities

·        Contributing to security architecture, designs and implementing technical security controls

·        Analysing information around IT security and delivering security engineering and operational initiatives

·        Assist in the development of IT strategic and tactical plans in the specific areas of information security

·        Engaging stakeholders and advising on information security matters, and technical issues enhancing knowledge and information sharing

·        Conducting the operational security aspects of incident management, including detection, response and reporting

·        Developing and maintaining information security reporting requirements and complete reporting according to agreed schedules to appropriate stakeholders

·        Contribute to technology strategies and product selections, responding to security changes and requests by implementing and updating cyber security technologies

·        Assess incoming threat and vulnerability information against the Gold Corporation assets to identify any possible impacts

·        Assisting as an interface between the organisation and vendors for high level technical issues involving information security

·        Perform periodic security vulnerability assessments over all IT systems and environments

·        Working on information security products to proactively identify and mitigate information security related risks

·        Research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.

About you, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

·     Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a relevant degree and/or Industry relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, SANS or related security certification

·     Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information effectively and professionally to users, management, and technical staff

·     Design and implementation experience with private, public and hybrid cloud models and solution

·     Hands-on experience administration a range of security technologies that include SIEM, Tenable Security Centre, Email Gateway, Web Proxy and Endpoint Security

·     Strong technical understanding of IT Security concepts such as Endpoint Security, Network Security, Infrastructure Security, Patch and Vulnerability Management, Data Loss Prevention and Security Incident and Event Monitoring.
