Who’s most at risk of SAD — and how to beat it

Winter can bring with it a suite of maladies: runny noses, itchy sweaters, a fluke skiing accident. But for some of us, the worst is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a depression that sets in as the days grow shorter.

SAD is estimated to affect 5% of the U.S. adult population — and Lyft data would seem to confirm that. Riders are less likely to use positive words when reviewing their drivers during winter months, particularly in February, the month when SAD symptoms tend to peak in the U.S.

Here's where SAD hits hardest, and some data-driven tips on getting through it.

Lyft commits to San Francisco — and its downtown revival

You don’t have to live in San Francisco to be aware of its challenges. Ever since the pandemic, and despite major investment from City Hall, downtown San Francisco has been bedeviled by soaring office and retail vacancies. But last month, Lyft made a major commitment to its hometown, completing a long-term renewal of its lease along Mission Bay.

Lyft data confirms downtown San Francisco’s challenges but also reason for optimism — and encouraging signs that Lyft itself will play a meaningful role in downtown’s revitalization.

Hi Lyft I hope this message finds you well. I need your support regarding an issue I’ve been facing. I’ve been driving with Lyft Canada for the past two months, but I still haven’t received my payout. I’ve contacted customer support numerous times, but unfortunately, they haven’t been able to resolve the issue. They’ve repeatedly mentioned that it’s a third-party matter and they’re unable to take further action. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this situation. Please let me know if you need any additional details from my side. Sorry to share my problem here but I did after CS team failed to solve the issue Thank you for your time and assistance. Lyft

Thanks to a rapid shift to meritocracy, Lyft is about to be keel hauled for their DEI initiative and the people whose lives were affected by discrimination and exclusion in the name of diversity. Once the right light is shed on Lyft's actions, tens of thousands of victims will be able to celebrate Lyft being brought to justice. #Racyst #Sexyst #BoycottLyft

Way too many drivers out there! Every person that has an office job at lyft should be required to do at least 10 rides a week to really experience what we go thru on the daily. I've driven for almost 7 years, bought a vehicle to do XL because, like you reminded me how much I made in 2022 but then you pulled the rug out from under me. Everything I've ever done that worked for me has been changed & no one cares. They use word salad like "expected behavior". They are draining the passion I've had, right out of me.
