Inspired to Change in an Airport

Inspired to Change in an Airport

I was flying back home from another grueling trip to one of the campuses I managed. I was worn out and looking forward to a nice long weekend. I happened to be in the McCarren Airport in Las Vegas where it's normal to see slot machines everywhere. Not being a gambler, I tend to ignore them. This day, however, as I was sitting at the gate waiting to board, I looked up and spotted a woman wearing a black satin jacket. She had her back turned towards me. I saw the word "Change" on her jacket. Was the universe was trying to tell me something? I thought about my job, the constant travel, the stress of deadlines and the piles of reports still sitting on my desk at home. Yes, I thought, I need to change. Turns out the woman worked for the airport handing out change for the slots. Still, it gave me pause. All the way home I considered what needed to change.
