Jersey and the Panama papers

Jersey and Panama could not be more different.

Jersey Finance Limited have produced a Q&A document setting out some of the reasons why.

Jersey is not a tax haven.  There is no bank secrecy and beneficial ownership information is available to support any legitimate law enforcement enquiry.  Criminals cannot hide in Jersey.

Unlike less well controlled jurisdictions like the UK, Jersey regulates fiduciary services businesses to ensure that Jersey is not used for money laundering or tax evasion.
