June Wrap-Up and July Trends 🌈

June Wrap-Up and July Trends 🌈

Ah, June, farewell! June was special as it was the month of Pride, with celebrations in many cities and countries around the world sending a universal message of love and acceptance, continuing the fight for equal rights and inclusivity. What else has been going on? Let’s take a look…

Inside emc3

Here at emc3, we’ve just finished wrapping up events all over the world for the likes of Google, TikTok, HP, and Gong. We’re currently gearing up for our annual company offsite 'Conn3ct', which is now less than 2 weeks away! For anyone new, Conn3ct is a great chance for our remote-first team to get some face-to-face time. We bring over our global team to London HQ for the week, where we spend time attending thought-leadership workshops, upskilling, learning, and well, just having a whole bunch of fun!

Strategy

Summer pop-up experiences always go down a treat, but what can you do that is unique?  After all, interaction elevates experience. Consider event themes, current trends, and the time of year. Summer, for example,  is the perfect time for branded activations and all things fun, bright and poppy. Think  ice cream trucks, cocktail and mocktail bars, outdoor installations, and floral arrangements. Household favourite mochi brand Little Moons did a spectacular job with their recent activation, a pink houseboat serving free frozen treats to promote their new flavours.

Content

Inclusive programming is becoming a top priority in event content. With an emphasis on inclusivity, many events are now focussing on more specific DEIA strategies and even providing specialised zones for different community needs. For example, Philly Pride has a Youth and Family Zone, a Sober Space, and sections celebrating specific cultural communities like "Bailar con Amor" for queer Latino culture. Creative

Our design department recently worked on some modular, multi-purpose stage sets for a company with two brands. This is an exciting concept to explore, perfect for companies that house multiple brands with unique identities who want to work within one budget and keep the design cost-effective while retaining personalisation. The modular design meant the team could visually change aspects of the stage by simply turning, flipping, or slotting an element into place. Allowing for a seamless transition between brands!

Sustainability

We recently managed to obtain some coloured, eco-friendly acrylic signs, which were returned to the supplier post-event for recycling. Let’s hope the power of supply and demand can make this a more widely available option in the near future as it was quite the task for the team! In other sustainability news, we’ve been helping clients omit food waste with local food bank donations for events recently held in London, and officially surpassed the 15,000 trees planted milestone through our partners JUST ONE Tree!
