Venture Center partners with Blockchain for Impact to accelerate biomedical innovation
Venture Center has partnered with Blockchain for Impact (BFI) through the BFI-Biome Virtual Network Program, dedicating US$ 15 million to enhance Biomedical Research and Innovation in India. The BFI Biome initiative integrates both upstream and deep science, bringing together researchers, technologists, and innovators to drive the next generation of intervention for improved healthcare.
A few initiatives that Venture Center will undertake as part of this important partnership include like the BFI-BIOME Fellowships, the BFI-BIOME Kick Starter Initiatives and BFI-BIOME Events which will include, workshops, awareness sessions, mentoring clinics and few thematic campaign events. Venture Center and Kotak launch the Investor Readiness Program for healthcare startups
In a significant move to bolster the healthcare startup ecosystem in India, Venture Center, in partnership with Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited , has announced the launch of the second cohort of the Investor Readiness Programme (IRP).
This equity-free (and also fee free) 24-week accelerator, supported by KotakAlt under its CSR programme, is designed to connect, mentor, and prepare startups with a working prototype to initiate a Rs 1 to 8 crore fundraise.
The high touch programme will offer a customised approach tailored to meet the unique needs of each participating startup. With a track record of success, including fundraising achievements by previous cohort participants, the IRP is an unparalleled opportunity for healthcare startups looking to scale their operations and impact. Venture Center awarded prestigious grant by U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai, to promote Diversity & Inclusion in MSMEs
The U.S. Consulate General Mumbai , under the U.S. Department of State, has awarded a prestigious grant to Venture Center in collaboration with PeopleWiz Consulting LLP. The grant, spanning from January 2024 to March 2025, will be administered through a collaboration between Venture Center and PeopleWiz Consulting LLP .
The grant supports the consulate's mission to promote democratic values and bolster the rules-based international system. It focuses on fostering diversity and inclusion in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across India.
The project targets the establishment of a cohort of 60-75 MSMEs with robust D&I policies, influencing a broader MSME community to adopt similar practices. The project seeks to sensitize and raise awareness among MSME owners in the five regions (Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi) covered by the U.S. Mission.

Venture Center and CSIR-NCL win STEM impact award
The Society for Technology Management (STEM) has recognised CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory and Venture Center for successfully spinning out a startup venture Rechargion Energy Private Limited in novel rechargeable battery technologies based on NCL's research and technology capabilities. The award recognizes the efforts of the organizations in creating and implementing new routes and mechanisms for putting laboratory research to use for the benefit of society. Read More
