Keys to Crush a Job Interview

Keys to Crush a Job Interview

Scheduling a meeting and talking with a hiring manager may seem daunting when you're not used to being on a job hunt. Fortunately, there is more than one way to gain insight and be more confident in the one-on-one.

Asking a hiring manager questions

Have you ever shown up to a job interview with a bunch of questions? Do you usually bring them up or prefer to keep them to yourself out of fear of looking rude? If this is the case for you, you'll surprised to know that asking a hiring manager questions about the position and the company will benefit you in many ways.

Expressing your concerns with an interviewer will reflect that you're fully engaged in the meeting and genuinely interested in becoming a potential employer of their company. Clearing out your concerns will also ease decision-making, as you'll have more elements to consider before making a final choice.

Pro tips for asking questions to a hiring manager:

  • Show you've done your research.
  • Be flexible and fluent.
  • Showcase your desire to learn.
  • Ask only about essential aspects.

It is essential to consider your needs and goals and formulate your questions in a straightforward and comprehensible way. Check out the following article for more insight and some sample questions.

Great insight. Getting past a computer program to get to talk to an actual person is always the hardest thing to do. I have been looking for months and constantly get declined because a computer lacks the complexity of the process of hiring someone. Challenges can be overcome, but as everyone knows, the computer program output, is only as good as the input.
