Understanding Package Redirects

Understanding Package Redirects

Rerouting packages to alternate delivery locations (ADLs) enables delivery companies to offer premium service, improve delivery success rates, and increase route efficiency. Flexible delivery options increase customer convenience, improve last-mile productivity, and reduce operational costs by minimizing failed attempts and unnecessary trips.

Major delivery companies such as DHL, Evri, FedEx, and UPS use advanced tracking and dynamic route optimization to manage package rerouting. Popular ADLs include package lockers, retail partner pickup locations, and convenience stores. Despite the challenges, providing these flexible options increases customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, enables last-minute rerouting, and improves the overall delivery experience.

4 Ways Postal Operators Can Survive in an Evolving Logistics Market

How postal operators can succeed in the parcel market?

Amazon's expansion into logistics with Amazon Logistics is challenging traditional logistics and postal companies, while providing them with a significant revenue stream. To meet this challenge, postal operators must adopt 4 key strategies:

1. Pricing strategies: Implement dynamic pricing to balance capacity and demand, similar to Uber's surge pricing, to offset rising operating costs.

2. Revisiting the Universal Service Obligation (USO): Modify or reduce USO requirements to allow for more efficient route planning and lower operating costs.

3. Enhancing the Customer Experience: Provide flexible delivery options and real-time tracking to improve customer satisfaction and reduce missed deliveries.

4. Rethinking Last Mile Delivery Networks: Optimize networks using digital tools and strategic location planning to increase efficiency and reduce delivery distances.

By adopting these strategies, postal operators can improve service, maintain profitability, and remain competitive in the evolving logistics marketplace.

Bettermile Price strategies depends on the local country markets. Please beware about that. In germany prospecs things always in price per item way. I tested some price strategies like e.g. pay on time per year (from netherlands), but it seems no success here in germany. Surcharges didn't give a clear view about prices/costs of deliveries.
