The retention strategies Wealthsimple used to get to $2 billion AUM

The Head of Growth responsible for accelerating the UK growth expansion at fintech giant Wealthsimple is set to share the secrets of their success at the Fount Growth Marketing Course this month.

Sam Power, who also ran Growth at Tilt.com before it was acquired by Airbnb, has been announced as an instructor on the selective course, which helps companies adopt a growth mindset and construct a growth strategy to mimic the same immense growth as Wealthsimple and other top unicorns. Wealthsimple currently manages $2 billion for more than 65,000 clients in the three markets it operates in and has received over $100 million in funding.

Sam will be sharing how Wealthsimple retained users and reduced churn as they rapidly gained market share through interrogating retention components, avoiding common mistakes and assumptions, and understanding how retention affects the each elementr of the growth funnel. Understanding retention for your product and customers is crucial to exponential growth, and Sam has been the driving force behind some of Wealthsimple's most successful strategies.

The six-week part-time course runs in October, and is co-instructed by growth heavyweights from Airbnb, Deliveroo, Perkbox and other high-growth scale-ups. It covers all aspects of the Growth Marketing funnel and has been tailored to professionals in Marketing, Engineering, Data and Product.

Applications to the London-based course can be made here.

“Fintech giant”?? $2B divide by 65K accts equals $30 odd K in per acct AUM. A start to be sure. probably too early to call them a “giant”. Not withstanding the associated funding levels - valuation be damned.
