Let everyday be a Happy Independence Day!!!

After waking up today I had a minor set back. It was that time of the year again, when you see all children and adults dressed in all-whites, waving flags and chanting "Jana Gana Mana” or “Vande Mataram”, my dad busy watching the parade and my mom making “jalebi”. My mind was somehow adjusting to the fact that not all of this is possible today as I was still a slave to the routine of this series of events happening on the same day every year for as long as I can remember.

I have already dedicated some time in remembering and saluting all the sacrifices our national heroes have made for us to live freely. I cannot emphasize enough that you cannot read loss but only feel it. For that I wish you all a happy and marvelous Independence Day.

As the day progressed I realized that I have just evolved with the idea of celebrating this memorable day. It was then, when the realization struck that I do celebrate Independence Day almost every day of my life and I could not wait to share this feeling . If you are celebrating it as well at your workplace; not the ‘let’s all wear tri-color and take selfies’ celebrate, but rejoice freedom – freedom of thought, expression, and action then we share a similar feeling today.

For now it's time to thank CloudCover for upholding our core values so efficiently that every day is an Independence Day. Thank you for creating an atmosphere where we are encouraged to voice divergent opinions, for letting us breathe freedom when we try and experiment with the risk of failing and thank you for encouraging diversity of thought for mutual success.

I couldn’t have refrained from sharing this, so once again thank you for upholding and respecting the freedom that our forefathers have fought for and for maintaining freedom of thought, expression, and action in our offices. I encourage all employers to do it or continue doing it.

I pledge to make every day in office a Happy Independence Day!!!
