Let go, kindly: Creating space for a new version of yourself
Welcome to the Muse & Method newsletter. I invite you to subscribe to receive weekly content focused on making the magic and mystery of inner work and personal growth more tangible and accessible. If you enjoy this newsletter, please consider leaving a comment or sharing it with your network!
For the past several weeks, I've been hosting a weekly event called Strange Magic Sundays , which is a space designed to help us reconnect, remember and root into ourselves and our souls through movement, music, and magic.
Last Sunday's theme - let go, kindly - was inspired by a conversation that my dear friend Carley Marcelle has been facilitating for the last several weeks focused on Awakening Extraordinary Creative Leadership .
Why do we need to let go?
It's easy to oversaturate, overburden and over-schedule ourselves.
Let's be honest, we do it all the time.
When it comes to adding new goals or intentions to our already-full plates, it can be very easy to let those new items slide off the top, get pushed to the back burner, or to quickly forget that we even wanted them in the first place.
I'm writing this in January, so it's likely that you may have selected a guide word or intention for the year, or maybe you’ve set some goals for yourself.
And it's also likely that you've noticed that whenever you set a new intention, goal or resolution, you often find yourself in “the dance”, where you fluctuate between your old ways and new ways of being, thinking and doing.
When we want to change something about ourselves or our lives, it's important that we clear out the clutter and create S P A C E.
Inside of that space, we can find creativity, energy, and possibilities that we might easily overlook or miss if our cups were already overflowing.
Letting go, kindly
So, let's focus on cutting cords, clearing away the clutter and creating SPACE — not so that we can simply fill it back up with new stuff, thoughts, and projects, but so that we can breathe, move, flow and BE inside of the pauses, the emptiness, the void.
In self-care, we talk a lot about filing up our cups, but in order to receive, we have to have room in our cups to be poured into!
So, this is an invitation to consider, clear away and release anything that you are carrying that is no longer serving you, that you no longer want in your life, that is weighing you down and depleting you — anything that is sapping energy from you physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally, spiritually — anything that is making the path cluttered and claustrophobic and unclear.
Pause & reflect
What are you carrying? What are you holding onto?
Let me say it another way. What are you trying to control or change?

Dance it out!
I've designed a dance journey to help you summon and release everything that you need to let go of so that you can create space for your transformation.
You're going to summon all of these things, thank them all for the role they’ve played in your life, and then you’ll let them go...KINDLY.
It’s like a little Marie Kondo action for our souls.
What to expect during the dance journey:
Spotify Playlist: Get your dance journey on now…
When you are finished dancing, find a quiet place to lie down and listen to this guided visualization (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the visualization) designed to help you take everything that you summoned during your journey and let it go, kindly.
I'd love to hear
What came up for you during the dance journey or the guided visualization?
What are you letting go of?
What are you creating space for?
I hope you enjoyed this article (and that you'll consider coming to the next Strange Magic Sunday ).
To your magic,
Breean
