Letter of intent
The why behind the birth and purpose of O Hello Ideas.
The purpose of a marketer is to use their voice and platform to communicate a message. There is nothing more evident now, than the notion that your voice falls flat when it is one-note, one-sided, or spoken from a singular perspective.
At first, the concept for O Hello Ideas grew from a strong need to:
- Use O Hello Media’s knowledge and available resources to continue supporting not only our own community, but the community at large
- Deliver purpose during a pandemic
- Find a way to help our wildly talented peers and clients who lost (and continue to lose) their jobs
- Spark innovation
- Establish meaningful connections
Now, another strong need has surfaced from recent events.
It is obvious that when using our voice, we must shift from singular perspectives to the convergence of multiple minds from multiple backgrounds who have a broad spectrum of experiences.
O Hello Ideas is an ideation platform to connect marketers with creative thinkers (plural). Our purpose is to spark connection through creativity.
Connection can mean many things; the connection between individuals, your idea to another, to ideas not yet considered or between minds - opening up more possibilities than before.
At first, O Hello Ideas was created as a tool for marketers to use to:
- Augment your internal teams and shake up creativity with more people power behind innovation
- Cut out the time-consuming task of vetting an outsourced creative partner and obtain quality ideas faster
- Supplement the work of your trusted agency partner to broaden ideation and bring ideas back to execute on together
Now I see how O Hello Ideas can also be a tool for marketers to use to strengthen their voice.
I’m not going to claim that O Hello Ideas grew from a need to change the dialogue in this country. I am hopeful, however, that in a small way, seeking diverse degrees of perspective from some of the brightest creative minds in the industry is one way to open you up to insights beyond your sphere. A way to obtain ideas beyond your own, and share your voice from a mindset of inclusivity.
I look forward to seeing our worldview expand.
