Life at Menlo - Meet Paul Kennedy

Born in Northern Ireland to British parents, Paul’s family moved frequently throughout his childhood due to his father’s post in the Royal Air Force. From an early age, Paul showed a natural gift for mathematics, eventually leading him to study engineering at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.

Paul has taken on various engineering roles throughout his career, ranging from temperature controls to CAM / CNC software to telecom routing systems. He joined Menlo in 2016 as a Principal Engineer, transitioning to a management role in 2021. Paul’s team, which includes engineers in the UK, Vietnam, and the United States, is responsible for the heart of Menlo’s browser isolation technology.

Outside of his role at Menlo, Paul’s biggest passion is music. A lifelong fan of punk-folk, he learned to play guitar at a very young age. In 1987 he joined a local band in Worthing, UK, and spent the next 15 years playing in the local area, topping out at a beer festival audience of around 2,000. Today, Paul continues to hone his craft on the ‘79 Stratocaster he’s owned for more than 40 years. “Home,” Paul says, “is where the Strat is.”
