Limping in to the New Year

I wonder what effect the date has on our personal outlook for a new year. The lives of millions of people across the globe have been altered unexpectedly, and unfortunately for some, permanently. Operations and budgets impacted across nearly every industry. Some for the better, most for the worst all in less than a year.

How we measure our self-performance rendered obsolete in a face of an ugly pandemic, leaving us afraid of the uncertainty, and forcing us to think and plan differently. Like many others, and on a personal level, I’m still trying to adapt to a set of unexpected and exceptional circumstances that are putting my hope and patience to the test.

Is the flip of a year just a number? Or can we actually embrace a complete change of a more resilient and flexible mindset? the knocks to the knee caps this year are making it hard for me to take a wider stride in to 2021. Having said that, I truly believe we will grow stronger, but only together, sharing experiences and understanding each other’s circumstances at a human level much before an organizational one.

I might be a little dramatic to you, and I am, if you’ve maintained or grew your income and livelihood this year. But to the rest of us out there; know that I feel you and yet we limp together in to a new year, we do it because we can, we do it because we deserve it and with the grace of god we do it to triumph.

I wish you a New Year full of Hope and Compassion.
