Make TODAY Matter!

Make TODAY Matter!

We have ALL walked past a family of 4 in a restaurant where ALL 4 of them were looking at their phones. I saw that last night and thought, if we do that with our OWN family, we are most likely doing it with our WORK family. I encourage all leaders to take time to learn from focused facetime with your teams rather than screen time. Trust me, the e-mails will still be there tonight. Use TODAY for human connection.

Great reminder since we are in the business of building relationships. Face to face, one customer at a time, earning their trust. Growing up in a family owned business, I learned the value and importance of the customer standing in front of you.

I had a resident pull me aside a few months ago and tell me she missed talking and sharing with me. She expressed that my face was always in my phone so she didn’t want to interrupt. After that day I try to make a conscious effort to leave my phone in the office when I step out into the community. It is not only good for them but good for me as well to disconnect and reconnect.
