July Sees 17.5% Increase in RV Shipments, RVIA Reports
The RV Industry Association 's July 2024 report highlights a notable 17.5% increase in RV shipments compared to last year, totaling 24,116 units. This surge is primarily driven by a 21.8% rise in towable RVs, especially conventional travel trailers, while motorhome shipments saw a 9.4% decline. Year-to-date, the RV industry has experienced a 9.4% rise in shipments, reaching 202,712 units. However, Park Model RVs faced a decrease in shipments, down 13.8% from July 2023. Craig Kirby, RVIA's President & CEO, emphasizes the industry's continuing recovery and the growing popularity of RVing, with 27 million Americans planning RV trips this fall. June data also showed positive trends, with total RV shipments up by 5% and travel trailers leading the increase. Kirby highlights RVs as an appealing, cost-effective travel option, granting consumers flexibility and control over their itineraries.
