Tell us a little bit about your career history to date?

I have studied IT Engineering (BSc.) at University of Debrecen in Hungary. That was the reason why I have moved to Hungary in 2010, for studies.

Then during my MSc. in Computer Science, I started my career, professional life as a Windows Server Administrator at a multinational company. After my graduation, becoming a Computer Scientist, I relocated to Budapest and started with my first role in Citi as an Information Security Analyst. I have always had passion for Cyber Security. Currently, I am working as a senior vulnerability assessment analyst at Citi. Besides my professional career, I am a PhD. candidate, doing research about automata networks and applications to cryptography.

Why did you decide to join Citi?

To be honest, the main reason why I wanted to join Citi was the recommendation by one of my classmates/friends. He was talking a lot about his new role, opportunities, benefits and the atmosphere in Citi. I was influenced by all the positivity I heard about. The other important reason is that Citi is one of the largest financial institutions in the world, very esteemed with a great reputation. I still think it is one of the best workplaces to have an excellent career.

What is your role at Citi?

I am working as a senior vulnerability assessment analyst. Scanning, monitoring, assessing, and reporting vulnerabilities detected on the entire infrastructure by using Citi certified specific vulnerability assessment tools.

What have you enjoyed most about your time with Citi?

It is definitely the culture! I like the culture, environment, diversity, work ethics, kindness, professionalism, and career opportunities at Citi. As a foreigner, diversity is a very important topic for me. Regardless of your gender, nationality, ethnicity, age, sexuality, mother tongue, educational background and so on, every individual is equal at Citi. The other thing I appreciate is that the recognition of the work I do.

What advice would you give someone considering a career at Citi?

My advice would be “do not lose time, just apply for a matching position for your career to be brighter by time!” Because Citi offers excellent career and educational opportunities, supporting you with training to obtain well-known certifications which would take your career to another level. If you are dedicated enough, focusing on your goals, there is no reason not to grow professionally at Citi.
